Spring Concert - featuring all five choirs
Sacramento Children’s Chorus’ spring concert, The World is Full of Poetry is on Sunday, May 18, 2014 at 4:00pm at the Carmichael Seventh Day Adventist Church (Map) located at 4600 Winding Way. All five choirs will perform under the direction of Lynn Stevens and Julie Adams.
This concert is an afternoon of songs set to the words of poets, from Emily
Dickinson, William Shakespeare, Walt Whitman to Dr. Seuss and the most famous poet of all, Anonymous. From the sublime to the silly, styles include the Blues, Gospel, Classical and a special tribute to Pete Seeger who died this year at the age of 94.” says Lynn Stevens, SCC founder and artistic director. “We will also feature a new commissioned piece of work by composer Garrett Shatzer called The Map of the Clock.
