Music Makers is a 8 week workshop designed to provide young
children with their “first experience in singing”. Kindergarten
through young second grade age children receive an
introduction to and possibly their first exposure to music.
Class includes activities and games that include singing, rhythm,
and movement using a curriculum based on ETM, Orff and Kodaly
model. This teaching method incorporates singing games, movement,
playing instruments, and sharing each student’s unique voice.
Also, children are not required to audition and can simply focus
on having fun, making friends and learning the wonders of music.
2020 Winter Session is Wednesday, January 29 – March 25 with
no class on February 19th. Download the registration
Today’s evidence shows that children who participate in music
class at least once a week develop basic reading skills faster
and tend to have higher math, science and critical thinking
skills. Music classes develop listening skills and symbolic
thinking, as well as a means of socialization.
