Capital Choral Festival
Saturday, November 10, 2018  starting at 9 a.m.

You are cordially invited to participate in the Capital Choral Festival hosted by Sacramento Children’s Chorus. 

This festival has been designed to be an opportunity for community and school concert choirs along with Jazz choirs to perform at Westminster Presbyterian Church and California State Capitol.

The primary goal of the Capital Choral Festival is one of education where participants will receive positive feedback from an outstanding panel of adjudicators.

Here is what you can expect at this non-competitive festival:

  • 20 minute warm-up period
  • 20 minute adjudicated performance in the beautiful Westminster Presbyterian Church sanctuary (concert) or social hall (Jazz)
  • 15 minute post-performance feedback clinic 
  • Written comments by an outstanding panel of adjudicators
  • 25 minute second performance opportunity in the State Capitol rotunda
  • Performances by R.S.V.P. under the direction of Jennifer Reason, and the ARC Vocal Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Art LaPierre
  • A catered lunch for directors and their accompanists along with the adjudicators

Adjudicators: 

Concert/Chamber/Madrigal/Children’s Choirs/Church Choirs: Dr. Ralph Hughes (American River College), Lynn Stevens (Sacramento Children’s Chorus), William Zinn (Davis High School)

Vocal Jazz: Dr. Art LaPierre (American River College), Julie Adams (Founding Director of R.S.V.P.)
