International and National Tours
SCC touring choirs have delighted audiences all over the world
The touring choirs of the SCC (Crescendo, Dolce) have delighted audiences in China, Sweden, Norway, England, France, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Pilsen, Kromeriz, Honolulu, New York (Carnegie Hall), Oregon and Los Angeles as well as the Sacramento Community Center Theater, the Memorial Auditorium and the Mondavi Center at University of California at Davis.
- Selected to participate in the Pacific Rim Children’s Choir Festival in Honolulu, Hawaii (Summer 2010)
- Selected to compete at the prestigious International Choral Kathaumixw Festival in British Columbia (Summer 2006)
- European tours to Sweden and Norway (2008), Prague and Budapest (2004) and England and France (2002)
- Chosen to perform in Honolulu, Hawaii at the regional convention of the American Choral Directors Association (2003)
Honors
- Ms. Stevens receives the Arts Educator of the Year award presented by the Arts and Business Council (2010)
- Performed Handel’s Messiah at Carnegie Hall in New York City receiving a standing ovation.
- Selected to perform at the national convention of the American Choral Directors Association in Los Angeles (2005)
- World premiered, Dies Irae, by famous choral composer Z. Randall Stroope (2005)
- Received the Best of Sacramento Award for the Best Children’s Chorus in the Sacramento area (2004)
