Why We Sing … The Traditions of Choral Music
Performing members of the Sacramento Children’s Chorus will present Why We Sing – The Traditions of Choral Music on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. in the St. John’s Lutheran Church 1701 L Street, Sacramento.
Over the centuries, traditional styles of choral music have been developed and passed down from generation to generation, from choir to choir. While these styles vary musically, the themes found within are consistent and familiar. Whether it be joy, love, peace, death, friendship, or faith, these are the reasons why we sing. The Sacramento Children’s Chorus’ spring concert, Why We Sing – The Traditions of Choral Music, will explore these universal themes as well as the significant choral styles that have conveyed the themes throughout time. We look forward to reliving our choral traditions with you, which remind us all why we continue to sing.
